This is a very old manure spreader. Farmers use them to clean the barnyard and the barn. The manure is carried in the spreader to fertilize the fields. An apron (seen hanging beneath the box) revolves through the box thereby moving the manure towards the paddles. The paddles at the rear rotate and fling the manure onto the land. This is much nicer to work with than a shovel.
