The garden and the raspberry patch yield a bounty for the family. The field, however, produces abundantly for the cattle. The corn is stored on the ear in the corncrib until it is ground as feed for the cows. During that time the corn is air-dried. Many farmers nowadays dry shelled corn in a corn dryer which uses electricity to dry the corn. If a farmer can take the time to wait, the corn crib does the job just as well.
